When it’s good to sell a product

There are so many good reasons to recommend and sell a product, particularly when it has made a positive impact on your life. Here are some of the reasons to consider selling or referring to a product. If you think yes to any of these prompts, then you are making an ethically sound decision to authentically sell your product.

  • You love the product
  • You find it works well and is effective
  • You  would recommend it to others without selling it 
  • You would buy it yourself
  • You are passionate about it
  • You think highly of the company that manufactures it.

When it’s not

If you’re looking at a product and can’t say yes to any of the points above, it is probably a sign that you shouldn’t be selling it. Furthermore, if you’ve never tried it, or tried it but didn’t like it, wouldn’t buy it yourself, wouldn’t recommend it to people you care about, didn’t find it beneficial or don’t agree with/ have a poor opinion of the company that manufactures it, it is not the product for your sales career. 

Why this matters

What you put out into the world matters, and whether you’re honest and ethical or not will become your reputation. Morally speaking, it’s important to know you are helping people, not taking their money for personal gain.
